How To Stay Married by Harrison Scott Key - Best book I read in 2023, I gushed about it nonstop and quoted it in our Christmas letter. Jeff and I are currently listening to the audio version while we work on a puzzle after the kids are in bed.
You Could Make This Place Beautiful by Maggie Smith - stunning juxtaposition to How to Stay Married. Beautifully written in poetic prose that jumps off the page and pulls the reader in.
While You Were Out by Meg Kissinger - The audio experience was top notch. Meg is a journalist by trade and pairs her reporting with honest and gracious storytelling.
Fresh Water for Flowers by Valerie Perrin - Stunning, heartbreaking, surprising, redemptive. Idk what else to say. It’s the opposite of light and breezy but not in a depressing way.
Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus - Not at all what I expected when I looked at the cover. Made me want to join a crew team. I loved this book.
Meet Me At The Lake by Carley Fortune - I loved Every Summer After and this was just as good. A great summer read to dive into. She’s becoming a go-to author for me.
Part of Your World by Abby Jimenez - I read this on the beach at the lake and just adored it. I read Yours, Truly after and liked this one better.
Tom Lake by Ann Patchett - a perfect summer book that’s not a rom com. Ann Patchett is hit or miss for me and I adored this book. ALSO, the audio is narrated by Meryl Streep.
Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros - I completely and totally lost myself in this book during the holidays. It was exactly the escape I needed. I loved it so much that I drove local bookstore to get a copy of Iron Flame the day after Christmas.
How To Keep House While Drowning by K.C. Davis - I listened to this short but powerful book on our trip to the lake and it is the perfect antidote to all the decanting, and containing and color coding content that is January.

We have really similar taste! I read a lot of these too.I pre-order everything by Emily Henry on my Kindle because they're always coming out around my birthday, but everything else I have on hold at the library (for Kindle of course).
We’ve read/ loved a lot of the same books! Putting the ones I haven’t read yet on my TBR! Thanks!!
