I liked it! I picked it up for Ruth Reichl's food writing, but I stayed for the characters, the art (which she writes as well as food), and Paris (of course!).
āThe babies who fit in the cradle of my elbow what seems like last week are off to school and like the tomato plants, I can feel the limbs of my body and mind stretching, growing, taking over their newfound space.ā Beautiful
Whenever I read your posts I immediately open Libby to add all your recommendations - and they're always fantastic! Also, the tomato lines about kindergarteners nearly had me tearing up in a coffee shop. So tenderly true!
I love that we share our (great) taste in books! What have you been reading lately? Also, I have definitely broken down in spontaneous tears in coffee shops more than once š
There was just so much in this post I loved, which is why it's taken me this long to comment. I mean... burrata, Home Is Where The Eggs Are (just got it from on hold, such a beauty), tomato harvest, just to name a few things that jumped out at me. I cackled at "Sway and Pray"--did you make that up? Love the "Manna" recommendation, and appreciated the shout-out to my ADDitude article! :D <3
There is so much I want to say about this newsletter! Iāve been wanting to read āThe Paris Novelā for months, so thank you for the push to finally track it down and read it. Iāve also been so curious about reusable paper towelsāI swear paper towels and toilet paper are the most expensive parts of my grocery list! š¤¦š¼āāļø And I also really need to watch āThe Chosen.ā Like, really.
Ooh ok I love that Chris Renzema song you linked and am going to see him in concert soon eeep! Also just got the Paris novel from the library and am excited to start it :)
I came to the comment section to say Megan Hogg introduced me to Chris Renzema and I am very much in my Sad Christian Girl era of music š„ appreciated the other recs!
Beautiful writing, Krista. I'm reading The Paris Novel, and I've had the Tom Hanks one on my (long) list. Thanks for the reminder!
Thank you, Amanda! Curious to hear what you think about The Paris Novel when youāre done!

Man that was a sentence that reverbed down to my core.
This resonates big time. As always your words a treat and joy.
