Oh man, I don’t know about wisdom. Mostly I think I write what I need to read and then cross my fingers I’m not the only one. I did read an interesting essay the other day about information vs. knowledge vs. wisdom. The author said that we have so much information but information isn’t knowledge and knowledge isn’t wisdom. She said writers have access to wisdom in a unique way because we process information and knowledge and draw connections that can only happen over time. It was fascinating! It’s a joy to be creating alongside you.
And Matt Haig has a new book, huh? I haven't seen this one yet. Excited to check it out. What other books have you read of his? Do you have a favorite?
Yes! It was available from my library so I snagged it! I have and love The Comfort Book and I also read The Midnight Library which I didn’t love as much as it seems most people do.
Oh, yes, I'm one of those people. I liked The Midnight Library. I also really liked How to Stop Time. I find the plots clever. I'll have to check my library to see if the new one is there!
"This is a reminder to trust the part of you that started down this path. You may not be able to see the finish line, but it’s coming and with every step forward you’re closer to wholeness, healing and integration. As you open your heart to the anger, grief, fear and sadness, you open your heart to joy, curiosity, delight, and love. Keep going."
Thank you for this reminder- I need it. I so resonated with what you said- how with deep inner work, there is a frustrating lack of physical evidence. As a doer and list checker-offer, I really want the tangible proof that something is happening, that the unseen work and the subsequent exhaustion are worth it. But maybe instead of getting that external validation that comes from callouses or likes or even dirt and leaves blown off a patio (so satisfying!), we get to lean on the support and encouragement of the people that know we are doing the hard work, and the internal strength (and dependence on the Lord) that we feel slowly growing. Thank you for sharing- I'm excited to use the prompts!
Yesss! I so relate (obviously) and yes to leaning on others and dependence. Our deacon gave a homily on dependence last weekend that was SO GOOD. Seems to be a word that’s popping up on my radar a lot lately 😂

I really loved listening to this, and letting your wisdom seep into my brain from my ear earbuds.❤️

Ooh, I love that second prompt!

Dr. Seuss of crying 🤣 loved the prompts at the end to help us connect to our tough emotions, especially noting challenges we’ve already overcome.
It made me giggle 😂
That is my favorite kind of writing

Thank you, Joy!
A beautiful reminder of how messy healing can be—and how worth it the journey is. 💗
