Hahaha cheers to firstborn life! I thought Happy Place was fine. I wonder if I’d like it better if I re-read it? It just felt kind of chaotic to me? It’s been a while since I read it but I remember thinking “this is such a good reminder that writers are allowed to try new things, not every book has to be better than their last and I don’t have to love every book my favorite authors write.”

Ohhh this was great and made me laugh several times. Thank you for all the details! "It doesn't have to be perfect, or permanent, to be worthwhile." WOAH. You are just so wise :)

We also have cut out TV with the exception of family movie night on Saturdays, or the occasional show when we really need it. I’ve also noticed different kids. I think our experiment is here to stay!

Yes! We occasionally watch a movie before bed and when I’m really desperate I’ll play an audiobook on Youtube that shows the illustrations as they read. It’s so fascinating how it’s shifting the entire mood of our house.

Cool night jammies! Birkenstocks!! MERCY WATSON! All my favorite things. We're doing a lot of screen free summer (+ dumbed down phones for both Joseph and I) and the suckiness is real. It's hard to detox from instant gratification. But here's to sticking to it. Happy summer, friend!

Wow. Thank you for all this love and support. I look back at my 3.5 month sabbatical a few years ago as such a rich time of shifting and reorienting and I pray this summer will be the same for you and yours!

It’s so good to hear that Lori! I’m already glad we did it and seeing the fruit, which is great because Lord knows my patience is… not great.
